Art is endless, inspiration comes from everywhere, and personal taste is as varied as the individual. All of this work, from the light, decorative image to the most disturbing nightmare creatures, is the output of one restless artist.

Born Gae Cheryl Hirsch, I had decided a long time ago to use my Great grandfather’s name (the source for my first name) as my artist’s signature- Gabriel was made feminine by the French spelling to Gabrielle. Less serious work, cartoons and some illustrations, I shortened to Gabby. Recently, at the suggestion of a friend and trusted advisor, I changed the spelling to Gabriél with an accent to assure the pronunciation, and used Gabbie as the diminutive. Gabriél translates as “God is my Strength”, which I gratefully acknowledge, and Gabbie is certainly my nature, so either way, with any spelling, this is me.
